Our service warranty
This page informs you about the service warranty of completed works for clients of Our Cedar Roofs Inc.
1. Committment
While Our Cedar Roofs makes the utmost effort to ensure a standard of operational excellence and exceptional service, unfortunately mistakes can happen and we take them seriously. We are committed to ensuring our clients’ full satisfaction and to fulfilling our promises in good will through our service warranty.
2. Scope
Our service warranty ensures that our clients do not pay for additional repairs and maintenance on restoration that was completed by Our Cedar Roofs, due to an error, omission or incomplete work.
Our service warranty covers the following:
- Falling, missing or incorrectly installed shingles, shakes, shims or ridge caps on roof areas restored by Our Cedar Roofs after the service is completed
- Roof areas where cedar roof chemical treatment was not sprayed or very lightly sprayed by Our Cedar Roofs after the service is completed
- Building components, including fascia, soffit, rafter, windows and window frames, doors and door frames, house siding where cedar roof chemical treatment was over-sprayed and not cleaned by Our Cedar Roofs during the execution of the works
- Clogged gutters, downspouts or stacks due to cleaning by Our Cedar Roofs after the service is completed
3. Remedy
Our Cedar Roofs commits to rectify any shortcomings by:
- Communicating with the affected client regularly and transparently to resolve the issues.
- Documenting the issues with photos, videos and in writing for analysis, resolution, archives and training purposes.
- Analyzing and communicating our decision on the applicability of the claimed issues to our service warranty.
- If the issues are applicable to our service warranty, informing the affected client of our decision, scheduling a visit and conducting the repair work free of charge.
- If the issues are not applicable to our service warranty, informing the affected client of our decision and providing supportive evidence.
4. Coverage period
The service warranty of Our Cedar Roofs is for a period of 5 years starting on the day the “release waiver” is signed by the client.
The release waiver is a document that has the client’s printed name, signature and date of signature that confirms that the client is satisfied with the work completed. It is signed at end of the cedar roof restoration work.
5. Scope not covered / Void
The service warranty of Our Cedar Roofs does not cover the following scopes:
- Product warranty of any materials used, including shakes, shingles, ridge caps, shims, nails
- Product warranty of cleaning products or chemical treatment used
- Damage to the cedar roof due to personal negligence, errors or omissions
- Damage to the cedar roof due to an Act of God, including hail, storms, floods, fires, hurricanes, volcanoes, earthquakes
The service warranty of Our Cedar Roofs is void if, within a period of 5 years after the signing of the release waiver:
- The client hires another cedar roof contractor to work on the roof, including but not limited to cleaning, repair or treatment
- The client hires a contractor (i.e. gutter cleaning) that conducts work on the roof that results in non-negligible damages or issues due to their work
- The client makes modifications personally to the cedar roof
- The client conducts renovations that affect the design performance of the cedar roof
6. Course of action
Affected clients of Our Cedar Roofs should contact the company at any point in time within 5 years after the signing of the release waiver to submit a repair case subject to our service warranty. Clients can contact us by phone, text, messaging apps, email, website or social media to communicate their desire to start a case.
We will collect all necessary information and supporting media, including visiting in person to inspect, in order to make a decision on the applicability of the case.
If the affected client’s case applies to our service warranty, we conduct the cleaning, repairs or treatment at no additional cost to the client.
6. Amendments
Our Cedar Roofs reserves the right to revise and amend the present disclaimer notice periodically without notice, and any revised version will be deemed to be applicable from the first date of its publication on the Our Cedar Roofs website.
7. Applicable laws
The present service warranty offered by Our Cedar Roofs is offered only in Canada and is applicable to the jurisdiction and laws of the Province of British Columbia.
