Let's discuss

Cedar roof cleaning

Cedar roof cleaning is an essential maintenance task that helps preserve the integrity and appearance of cedar roofs. Over time, greens (such as moss, algae, dirt and debris) can accumulate on the surface, leading to discoloration and potential damage.

Professional cleaning methods typically involve gentle pressure washing or the use of non-toxic cleaning solutions to remove buildup without harming the wood.

Cedar roof cleaning helps prevent premature aging, extends roof lifespan, enhances curb appeal and ensures proper water drainage.

No we don’t. We only use water and with low pressure, it removes most of the greens or debris on the roof.

We use low pressure washers and proper techniques to avoid damaging your cedar roof. A regular (high) pressure washer and improper use could potentially damage your cedar roof.

Yes we do. We disconnect downspouts to avoid clogging and we clean all the dirt and green that collects in the gutters.

We secure tarps on any plants and move patio furniture that are within the vicinity of the cedar roof before cleaning. We avoid dirtying any important items, and in case we slightly do, we clean up everything for you.

We rinse the windows and siding and collect any debris or dirt that collects at the bottom of the walls. Your house will look cleaner than it did before our restoration.

Yes we do. We collect all debris and dirt that fell off the roof in bags and dispose of them for you.

Our cleaning process

Preparing the roof & surroundings

We disconnect your downspouts (to avoid clogging) and we clean your gutters. We cover the trees and landscaping within the vicinity of the roof that are important to you. We also cover heavy patio furniture, move light ones under roofs or away from the house, and cover your pool if you have one.

We also cut any small branches overhanging on the roof and recommend hiring a contractor for bigger ones.

Preliminary cleanup & setup

We remove any big items like fallen-off branches and pine needles by hand or with a broom. Then, we do a visual inspection and re-nail or remove any loose cedar shingles, shakes or ridge caps.

We air blow the debris and leaves off your roof to ensure a clean working surface before the low-pressure pressure wash. Once the surface is clean, we set up our pressure washers and cleaning equipment.

Cleaning (low-pressure wash)

We pressure wash your cedar roof using low-pressure high-volume commercial equipment and use a pressure washer dome in cases where over-spraying is an issue.

Our pressure washers are regulated so they remove greens stuck on your cedar roof without causing damage or splintering in the cedar wood. We also clean the gutters and downspouts.

Rinsing & cleanup

We rinse your cedar roof one last time to remove any debris or dirt that did not run off. We also rinse your house siding and windows from the top to the bottom to ensure all dirt is cleaned up.

We also clean around the house and pile debris and dirt in bags, and dispose of them.

Your cedar roof is now clean and ready for the next step!
