Our service warranty
This Service Warranty (“Warranty”) is provided by Our Cedar Roofs (“We,” “Us,” or “Our”) to customers who have had their cedar roofs restored by us. The Warranty applies to all roof restoration services provided by Our Cedar Roofs and is subject to the terms and conditions outlined below.
1. Coverage
This Warranty covers the restoration services performed by Our Cedar Roofs, including but not limited to cleaning, repair and treatment related to cedar roof restoration. It guarantees the work performed on the cedar roof, subject to the following terms and conditions.
2. Duration of Warranty
The length of the warranty period depends on the specific restoration services performed:
- Labor Warranty: 5 years from the completion date of the cedar roof restoration.
- Materials Warranty: 5 years from the completion date, based on the manufacturer’s warranty for any materials used (cedar wood for shingles, shakes, ridge caps, shims, and treatment chemicals).
3. Warranty Coverage Includes:
- Labor: The workmanship of our team in restoring your cedar roof, including cleaning, repair and treatment, will be free from defects in workmanship and material during installation.
- Materials: The materials used, including shingles, shakes, ridge caps and treatment chemicals will be covered under the manufacturer’s warranty, and any issues related to material defects will be addressed per the manufacturer’s terms.
4. Exclusions
This Warranty does not cover:
- Damage from external sources: Any damage to the roof resulting from external causes, such as storms, extreme weather conditions (hail, wind, fallen trees, etc.), or natural disasters.
- Negligence or Misuse: Damage resulting from improper maintenance, neglect, or misuse by the homeowner or any third party (e.g. contractors causing damage after walking on the roof).
- Pre-existing conditions: Any damage or issues related to existing roof problems, such as underlying structural issues, wood rot, or pest damage that were not addressed in the restoration process.
- Regular Wear and Tear: Natural aging of the cedar wood and fading of materials due to exposure to UV rays or other environmental factors.
- Improper Maintenance: Failure to perform necessary maintenance or repairs per the recommendations provided by Our Cedar Roofs after the restoration is complete.
5. Customer Responsibilities
To maintain the validity of this Warranty, the customer agrees to:
- Regular Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspections, as recommended by Our Cedar Roofs, to ensure the longevity of the roof and prevent any future issues.
- Proper Care: Ensure that the number of people walking on the cedar roof is minimized, and if absolutely necessary, that proper safety precautions and best practices are followed.
- Prompt Notification: Notify Our Cedar Roofs immediately if any issues arise that may be covered under this Warranty.
- Access for Inspections: Allow Our Cedar Roofs to inspect the roof if an issue arises that is claimed to be covered by the Warranty.
6. Support / Claims Process
If you believe that a defect or issue covered by this Warranty has occurred, please contact Our Cedar Roofs immediately at support@ourcedarroofs.com. Upon notification:
- We will schedule a site visit to assess the issue and determine whether it is covered under this Warranty.
- If the issue is covered, we will schedule repairs at no cost to you, provided the damage is not caused by factors outside of the Warranty coverage.
7. Limitations of Liability
The maximum liability under this Warranty is limited to the cost of repairs or replacement of the restoration services provided by Our Cedar Roofs. We are not responsible for any consequential, incidental, or indirect damages, including but not limited to damage to personal property, loss of use, or damage caused by delays in performing warranty work.
8. Transferability
This Warranty is transferable and is valid for the property owner at any time. If the property is sold or transferred, the new owner will be covered under this Warranty.
9. Governing Law
This Warranty shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
10. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute regarding this Warranty, the parties agree to attempt to resolve the issue amicably. If a resolution cannot be reached, the dispute will be submitted to mediation or arbitration before seeking legal action.
11. No Other Warranties
This Warranty constitutes the sole and exclusive warranty for the restoration services performed by Our Cedar Roofs. No other express or implied warranties are provided, except as specifically outlined herein.
12. Modification of Warranty
Our Cedar Roofs reserves the right to amend or modify this Warranty at any time. However, any changes will not affect work already completed under a previous agreement.
